Health services for the communities
We regularly organize health camps in the communities that lack sufficient health services. Health camps are mobile clinics where the people in the communities can come to see and consult a doctor and other health professionals and where they can find information about topics like nutrition and menstrual hygiene.

Testimonial
Situation in Nepal
Limited access to health services and information
For many communities in Nepal, access to basic health services such as regular check-ups and essential medical care remains limited. Long distances, inadequate facilities, and financial barriers prevent people from seeking treatment, making them more vulnerable to diseases that could have been prevented.
Rural communities also often have little awareness about healthy lifestyles, including balanced diets, menstrual health, and hygiene. For example, many children are deprived of nutritious diets, which can affect their development. Menstruation also remains a widespread taboo in Nepal, leading many women to face discrimination and health problems due to misconceptions about natural processes within their bodies.
Our aim
Healthy people – healthy communities
Prevention, health promotion, and women’s empowerment are essential for sustainable change towards healthier communities. Our goal is to provide basic health services and check-ups and raise awareness about pressing health issues to prevent illness and to improve overall quality of life.
Awareness and education is an important part of every health camp. By increasing knowledge about nutrition, hygiene, and women’s health, we empower individuals to make healthier choices. Together with medical care and awareness campaigns, we support the communities to become stronger and more resilient.
Our approach
Creating conditions for sustainable change
We bring healthcare directly to communities. By working with doctors, students, and healthcare professionals, we provide easy access to medical consultations, specialized treatment, medicine and information.
Our health camps are organized in rural areas of the Gokarneshwor region, with services tailored to local needs. For example, in 2025 we held a dental health camp in Okhreni after a survey highlighted oral health as a major concern in the area.
To provide practical information, the Akasha Academy staff and Traineeship students raise awareness about key health issues such as nutrition and hygiene to strengthen long-term community health.
Where we need your help
We are grateful for the support we have received from BMZ as well as from private individuals and foundations. These contributions have been essential in making our work possible. However, to continue expanding our efforts and reach more communities, additional support is required. We invite you to join us in making a lasting impact by helping bring essential healthcare and education to more communities!
