Healthy nutrition and education packs for 900 children in Nepal
February 18, 2025

Supporting the schools since 2015
The winter clothes distribution program began in 2015 after the devastating earthquake in Nepal. Many children lacked the bare necessities, as their families faced economic challenges and schools struggled with insufficient funding. In response, Akasha Academy launched fundraising campaigns to provide winter clothing, ensuring that lack of school uniform wouldn’t prevent children from attending school. Each year, the program has grown, reaching more students and expanding its impact. Today, this initiative not only addresses winter uniforms but also supports children’s education, nutrition and well-being.
What’s inside the Healthy Schools education packs?
Each Healthy Schools Education Pack was thoughtfully designed to address the basic needs of the children:
New school clothes: Enabling children to continuously go to school, providing appropriate clothing for the cold season and boosting their self-confidence. The program distributed 194 house-wise T-shirts, 40 sets of bags, 87 jackets with fur lining, 668 tracksuits, and 180 pairs of shoes.
Healthy breakfast: Providing nourishing meals to start their day.
Nutrition awareness sessions: Educating the children about the importance of healthy eating for their well-being and academic success.

Thanks to you, we exceeded our goal!
The joy of learning: A fun and educational experience about healthy nutrition
After having received essential items like school clothes, sweaters, shoes, and uniforms, the children were treated to a delicious and healthy breakfast. The beet and carrot muffins were a particular hit, with children excitedly sharing their creative ways of enjoying these nutritious treats.
After being well-nourished, the children engaged in an exciting educational experience. Through interactive games, activities and a theatrical play by Akasha Traineeship students, they learned important lessons about nutrition. This fun and engaging approach helped them understand how to take care of their health, setting them up for future success in both their studies and personal well-being.
Further nutrition workshops are planned for the coming months in order to reach even more children and deepen their knowledge.

Continuing the journey: How you can help
Our efforts to support students in Nepal does not stop with our yearly winter campaigns. Our “Freedom of Choice” Education Fund helps students in need throughout the year, with the aim of providing them access to quality education. This gives them the chance to make informed choices in their lives and build up resilience. To provide reliable and long-term support, we depend on regular donations. Therefore, we are happy if you would like to continue supporting young people in Nepal.
