About the ritual
The Bardo Ritual according to the Tibetan Book of the Dead offers a guiding light for all types of intermediate states, for dreams and beyond – help for the living and those no longer alive.
Bardo is all pervading space – luminosity, and therefore very healing for conditions of conceptual overload and uprootedness. Recollecting omnipresent light, the gaps between light and darkness – the intermediate states.
During the Buddhist ceremony based on the Karma Lingpa tradition the White Lama Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche will recite special Mantras and Dharanis and give teachings and explanations. Those who wish can actively join the light offering ceremony at the end.
We are looking forward to welcoming you!

Frequently asked questions
Spiritual rituals, in Sanskrit pujas, are part of life in many Asian and other indigenous traditions. They are celebrated throughout the cycle of the year, to enhance positivity, dissolve obstacles, and to find clarity and guidance in times of uncertainty. In the West, rituals have largely vanished, together with the natural approach to spiritual practices. To aid the current challenges of our time Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche performs these beneficial practices for people from all backgrounds.
You don’t need any previous knowledge about Buddhism or the Tibetan Book of the Dead to participate. Your genuine interest and respect for this ancient transmission and the holder of this wisdom tradition entitles you to take part.
Traditionally, at the end of every ritual one shows ones appreciation and gratitude by offering a Khata (white ceremonial scarf which you’ll get at the entrance) to the Rinpoche together with an offering (envelope with your donation). This gesture allows the participants to personally connect with the Rinpoche and receive his blessing.
Many participants wish to use this traditional form, but if you prefer not to, you are welcome to leave your donation in our donation box.
Since Dharma rituals are free to attend, it is up to the individual's generosity to decide the amount of the donation. The donation only reflects the gratitude of the individual to have experienced this mind opening ritual.
Since Long Yang e.V. is a non-profit organization all donations will help us to organize these special events in future, and also to support those rare wisdom holders in Nepal, who help to keep this wisdom tradition alive.
By public transport: The venue is easy to reach from anywhere in Munich by S-Bahn. Get off at Untermenzing station and walk 900 meters (about 10 minutes) along Von-Kahr Strasse to the venue or take the bus 164/165/X80 (the bus stop “Von-Kahr-Straße” is directly in front of the venue).
By Car: The Insel Mühle Hotel Restaurant Biergarten has limited parking. If you are driving, we recommend arriving early to find a parking spot.
We will be happy to answer any questions by e-mail (event@long-yang.org) or phone (089-12416086).
